i recently recieved a tens machine from a physical therapist. it works fine on my back and hips. it seems to have no effect on my legs below my knees. in fact, i can turn it to max output and i have no feeling of it on my ankles.
Can a tens machine be used to tone stomach muscles?
I have a tens machine that I brought when I was pregnant and I was just wandering whether it's safe to use on the abdomen to tone up stomach muscles. It says on the leaflet that it cannot be used on the abdomen during pregnancy but nothing on whether it can be used if you're not pregnant to help tone up. I know you can get similar machines designed to tone stomach muscles which also use electrical currents, so surely using a tens machine would be no different?Has anyone used a tens machine for this purpose and if so, does it work?Just for reference the tens machine I have is a Tens care touch tens unit.

I know that a TENs machine can be used for back pain. Are there any types of previous back injuries that a TENS cannot be used with? Thanks so much yea Soma and such doesn't work for this person. I am looking for alternative treatments. I have used a TENS unit for my back pain and it worked wonders I dont want to recommend it if it could hurt them. I know for more severe pain it just may not do anything. But I want to know if it can do any harm to certain types of previous injuries.
